What to expect:
First of all you will be welcomed by almost everyone. This congregation trys to make you aware we are really glad you chose to come to our church. If you fail to feel you were welcomed, don't give up...come again...we did not do that on purpose...we just messed up and got distracted...
Second, you should feel a true espression on the part of the congregation to enter into a time of singing that is heartfelt worship to God. Our worship teams are not paid professionals. They are people who love to use the gifts God has given them and they lead us in worship to our God. Our goal is that each person understands that they are singing to an audience of One; God. There may be clapping, lifting hands in praise to God, crying and expressions of joy. There may be people loudly or softly saying, "Hallejah" or "Amen" or thank you Jesus....of some form of expression of their encounter with God.
Third, you should hear people praying...some out loud and some quietly but yet unashamedly. We do believe God hears the heart but also welcomes the spoken prayers offered to Him. Again there may be tears, people lifting their hands in adoration or supplication, but with a genuine sense that they are communicating with God. There may be times we will put our hand on another's shoulder when praying for them. We try to respect your space, but be aware someone may touch you as they pray with you or for you...
Fourth, you should hear a message that is inspiring, very balanced and Biblical. You will find our Pastors excited about what they speak. They believe what they preach is truth. It should not be boring (if it is remember Babe Ruth even struck out). We believe in the supernatural, but not the super weird. We believe in miracles but know we do not produce them, we just believe for them. The sermons will alway close with an invitation to respond to the truth you have heard. There will be a closing song that hopefully will help you to respond to truth.
We are a congregation that attempts to be very aware that God reveals himself through what is called by many as the Trinity: That is, "The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit." Jesus said that each believer should expect to have a personal ineraction with the Holy Spirit that convinces them that God is who the Bible says He is. That personal interaction by the Holy Spirit is why you may see someone full of joy and at the same time another person weeping while worshiping. It is a personal reaction to who God is and what He is doing in the individual. We believe the "norm" for believers is to have an encounter each service with God. Jesus promises in the Gospel of Matthew that where two or three people are gathered together in His name, he will be there. We also believe that the Holy Spirit may use any of the means (gifts of the Spirit) listed in 1 Corinthians 12 to encourage and edify the church. You may hear a prophetic word that someone speaks that you can tell is from God. Or you may hear someone speak in an unknown tongue (as in Acts 2:4) and someone else bring what appears to be an interpretation. There may be a call for those needing healing to come to the front to be prayed for...we believe what Jesus did while on the earth can still happen in the Church.
